Partnering with the University of Alberta’s Curling Program, UDI co-hosted their first-ever Curling Invitational – inviting 80+ industry members to face off during a highly-competitive tournament. What was on the line? Prizes and bragging rights. What happened? A lot of tumbles, laughs, and misthrows.
Each player received quality coaching from the Bears and Pandas. Proceeds from this event were donated to support these curling athletes, and the University’s Curling Program.
“We were delighted to partner with UDI and its members to host this event,” said Head Coach, Rob Krepps. “The proceeds from this event have enabled us to keep athlete fees down and connected local companies with our athletes and raised important awareness of our program.”
Golden Bears and Pandas Curling is by far the most successful university curling program in Canada. In fact, between our Junior and Varsity teams, they have been fortunate enough to win a total of 25 provincial/conference titles, 14 national titles, and 4 world titles since 2012.
