On November 18, 350 of our members, municipal and elected officials, and industry partners gathered at the JW Marriott for the 24th Annual Spirit Awards.
“This annual celebration was a chance for us to recognize our peers and their contributions to making our region an attractive, affordable, and livable place,” said Kalen Anderson, Executive Director of UDI – Edmonton Metro.
Guests were treated to the second edition of SueFM and Friends, a talk-radio show featuring Susan Keating of Melcor Developments and Chris Borger of Rapid Fire Theatre. The duo shared their hot takes on the city’s hottest gossip.
An informal band made up of UDI members returned to the stage after a brief hiatus. Land developers by day, rock wannabees by night – the band featured Chris Nicholas, Jodie Wacko, Peter Reeson, Shane Erickson, Frankie O’Brien, Andrew Usenik, and Terran Sandwith.
The gala recognized four leaders in the urban development industry – Ryan Hamilton, Mike Kohl, Blaydon Dibben, and Tim Melton.
